How to use the card news maker
- Write your text in the content box. Start a big title with #, a subheading with ##, a list with - and numbers with 1., and put a --- line wherever you want a new card.
- Choose the image size, font size and color theme and the preview below changes at once. You can add a footer text and page numbers too.
- Press Save PNG on each card, or use "Save all" and "Save as ZIP" to download everything at once.
What makes card news easy to read
Card news reads best when each card carries a single idea. A title line and three or four lines of text are usually enough for one card. Because people read on phones, the type should be large and the line spacing generous. This tool sets the base font to 44px with line spacing of about 1.45, and when a card overflows it shrinks the text step by step until it fits.
A natural flow is a cover card that names the topic, middle cards with the key points and a last card with a summary or call to action. Use colors with enough contrast between background and text. The themes here pair a light background with dark text or a dark background with light text to keep the contrast high.
Uses and limits
Blog summaries, study notes, announcements, tip collections and lecture summaries all turn well into cards for social media. Markdown lets you paste text you already wrote in a notes app or document tool. You only write the text and the layout is arranged automatically, so there is no need to open a design tool.
This maker is for simple text-based cards. It does not support inserting photos, choosing fonts, tables or code blocks. The font is the default font of the device you are using, so the look can differ slightly between devices. Check copyright when you use other people's text or images.
Tips for writing cards
- Keep one message per card.
- Keep titles short, around a dozen characters.
- Keep lists to about three items.
- End the last card with a summary or a question.
- Shrink the preview to phone size and check that it reads comfortably before posting.
FAQ
How are the cards split?
Put a --- line in your text and the cards are split there. If there are no dividers but two or more ## headings, one card is made per heading. When a card has too much text the font shrinks a little automatically, but it is better to split the card before it becomes hard to read.
Which size is best for Instagram?
For the feed, square 1080×1080 or portrait 4:5 1080×1350 are common, and 9:16 1080×1920 suits stories and reel covers. Platform specs can change, so check the latest guidance before posting.
Do saved images use different fonts on different devices?
The images are drawn with the fonts available on your current device. A saved PNG looks the same wherever it is opened, but making it again on another device may change the font.
