How to use the image to PDF converter
- Choose or drop images. You can add many at once and drag the cards to set the order.
- Pick the page size (original size, A4 or Letter), margin, image storage and quality. You can set these before adding images.
- Press Save as PDF and you get a PDF with one image per page in the list order.
How images become a PDF
This tool draws each image on a hidden canvas, shrinks it if needed, turns the result into JPG or PNG data, and places one image per page into a single PDF document. Files are never sent to a server, so personal documents and photos can be used with peace of mind.
If the page size is the original image size, each image becomes one page with its quality and ratio unchanged. If you choose A4 or Letter, the image is centered on a standard sheet at its own ratio and sits inside the margin.
File size depends heavily on the storage mode. JPG gets smaller as quality drops and suits photos, while PNG is lossless but makes photos large. A long-side limit shrinks large photos first and keeps the PDF light.
Uses and tips
It is most used when several pages, such as scanned documents, receipts, homework photos or contract photos, must be submitted as one file. If email size is a worry, keep JPG quality around 80.
For documents to submit, A4 portrait with a 5 to 10 mm margin is safe because edges are not cut when printed. For PDFs only viewed on screen, such as albums or portfolios, keeping the original image size is sharper.
If landscape and portrait images are mixed, keep orientation on auto detect so each page matches its image. To force the same orientation for every page, choose portrait or landscape.
To merge or split existing PDFs, use the PDF Merge and Split tool, and to turn PDF pages into images, use the PDF to Image converter.
Photos of documents taken with a scanning app may have shadows or tilt, so check brightness and angle before adding them. For documents with small text, keep JPG quality at 90 or higher and leave the long-side limit off so text stays clear when zoomed.
When you bundle photos from several people into one document, adding them sorted by name makes ordering easier. If you only need some pages of a PDF you already have as images, use the opposite tool, the PDF to Image converter.
Because files are never uploaded, even sensitive documents such as contracts or ID copies can be turned into a PDF within this device only. The saved PDF does stay on the device, so delete the downloaded file if you used a shared computer. You can add up to 200 images at a time, and for a very large job it is steadier to make several PDFs and join them with the PDF Merge tool.
Tips for a good result
- A4 portrait with a 5 to 10 mm margin is a safe default for submissions.
- For email, JPG quality 75 to 85 with a long side around 2,500px works well.
- Scan documents in the same orientation to make ordering easier.
- Put numbers in file names before adding to keep the order clear.
- Check the card numbers match the page order you want before saving.
FAQ
How do I change the order of images?
Drag a card in the list to where you want it, or press the ← → buttons under it. The number at the top left of each card becomes its page number in the PDF. On a phone, the ← → buttons are easier than dragging.
What if the PDF is too large?
Keep the image storage on JPG and lower the quality to about 70 to 85, or set the long-side limit to 2,000 to 3,000px, and the file shrinks a lot. PNG original quality makes bigger files, so use it only when you need it, such as transparent backgrounds or sharp drawings.
Will an image be cropped on A4?
No. The image is scaled down, keeping its ratio, so that all of it fits inside the area left after the margin, and it is centered. With auto orientation, a landscape photo gets a landscape page and appears larger.
Will phone photos appear sideways?
The browser reads the rotation data saved in phone photos and draws them upright, so they go into the PDF in the direction you see. A few older browsers may show a different direction.
Can I add HEIC photos?
Most browsers cannot read HEIC, so such files may not be added or may fail to convert. Convert them to JPG first and then add them.
Notes & limitations
Images are processed only in the browser and are not sent to a server. With very many or large images, saving may be slow or fail depending on device memory, so split the job or use the long-side limit. Be careful when storing and sharing PDFs that contain personal information.
